Evans’ Rag

Vol 1 Issue 31

Finally! After all the weekly newsletters, I’d like to invite you to become an advance reader of Kill Devil Come the Storm. If you haven’t read the link, it’s a blurb about the book.

Writing a novel is much like dwelling in a small cell babbling to yourself for an eternity while being constantly attacked by snide, toothy gremlins nibbling at your self-esteem. Exactly.

Ultimately, I need advance readers who will write reviews. The best reviews are honest, not the breezy ones found on a book cover. This is how it’s done in the publishing business, one review at a time. All writers long for the feedback, not to mention the publicity, but if what you want is the glory, go play golf; it’s easier.

If you’re interested, please send an email; I’ll mail or hand-deliver copies to the address you provide. Same as for your email address–these will not be shared, sold, given away.

I’m planning to send out the advance copies of the book before Thanksgiving at the latest–before it goes on Amazon.

Did I mention advance copies are free?

Did You Hear—I Saw A Cat?

On this morning’s walk, the neighbor’s callico was strolling (only way a cat moves) across the street directly in front of us, pausing for best effect. For a dog who only weighs fifty pounds, Layla can pull three times her weight and keep moving forward.

Pet Harbor’s note on Layla’s regard for cats was succinct: ‘forget about it.’ It could be the way they like to stroll that gets her going. For the record, I like felines.
