The U.S. troops withdrew from Saigon in 1975—that debacle has stayed with me.
Years later, I met a Vietnamese woman, who lived through that nightmare, then but a child, boarding a helicopter to escape.

Summer grinds on in the Mid-Atlantic, though at least we’ve avoided the droughts and forest fires our western friends are suffering under.
I’ll admit to having little patience for those who find excuses for not being vaccinated—I’ll admit my own intolorance, if only they’d admit they’re endangering their neighbors—and innocent children.
