Life takes turns you don’t see coming. The latest is something serendipitous, as it seems I’m back to designing—one more time. We found a lot on the Outer Banks and I am setting about to design a beach house, the first in my career, and likely the last. I’ve designed any number of fictive beach houses for entertainment—architects dream by designing—but have never built one before now.
I’ll be busy at architecture again and pressed for time. So the blog will either suffer or I will, from a lack of sleep. Though it occurred to me that writing about the process amid the throes of it might be interesting. The series on libraries I wrote were done after the fact—some years after. This, I hope, will be done in real time.
This week’s Medium article, Starting Over, sets the stage. I’m curious to see where it goes.
