A Free Medium post by Bev Potter
If you read to the end of Bev Potter’s story you’ll find a link offering you to “buy Ms. Potter coffee” which is code for ‘tip the smart ass’ then below it lies a link to “My Review of the Acme® Do-It-Yourself CRISPR Gene Editing Kit I Ordered Online” but I’d secure any loose guinea pigs first.

Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull, 1819
A lot of flame-throwing across the divide is happening these days in the publishing world, including on the internet side of the house. The 1619 Project seems a current target. And the historians are getting into the fray. I’ll keep to the shallows of the controversy, looking at its impacts and leave it to the historians to criticize the project itself.
The two pieces on Medium are lighter fare—here’s hoping they balance the blog.
I am convinced Bev Potter is Mark Twain risen again for her dry humor. I only came across her work on Medium a few months ago. One story inspired one of my own and she graciously sent a friend’s link, so you can compare, but keep it to yourself.
The other Medium story I wrote after an unusual morning walk with Layla. There are some real dumb people out there; that’s all I’ll say on the subject, though Layla would like to say more.
