Last July, after reading months of posts on LakeLink, the community’s list serve, inspiration from the muse came down–like a ton of bricks. If our neighbors ever read this, I’m in trouble. With apologies to the several sweet Karens I know.

Barcroft Sunset
Last Sunday evening, in about fifteen minutes a blue sky with clouds catching color from the setting sun, changed from hints of pink and hues to gray until the sun retired. While looking out at the lake, I couldn’t help myself. I grabbed the bag, pulled out the camera and quickly put on the 20mm-70mm wide-angle lens. I wanted to capture as much as I could of the spectacle.
There’s a silent drama going on at any sunset. Even a normal day–or a rainy one when the light just slowly fades. But to catch a February sunset, its whisper of sunlight leaving later than it had in December gives hint of the longer hours of summer to come.
