The Black Church
Tuesday night, we watched the final broadcast of The Black Church by Henry Louis Gates Jr.
Gates closes with a statement about persistence in the face of no hope that stayed with me, “finding a way when there was no way.”
She’s going nationwide—on YouTube.

Two short pieces comprise this week’s blog, the first about our certifiable canine in the snow, and where we live; the second about Arlington’s fading political will.
Back when Arlington was less cautious and a bit more visionary in urban planning, my firm was asked by the County to envision how a gradual remaking of Rosslyn might include a redeveloped riverside. I wanted to include it in this piece, but ran out of time. I hope to get it for next week’s blog.
