If we’d stayed one more day in Sanderling last week, we might have enjoyed a 24-hour layover outside Fredericksburg with all those truckers.
The thing is, the backup at Fredericksburg last Saturday sans snow and jackknifed semis, took us ninety minutes to make ten miles. Finally reaching the house, Layla collapsed on her dog bed and wouldn’t get up for dinner, worn out, and we didn’t feel so great either.
It seems that ever since Central Place, that roadside outlet mall I raise a middle finger to in passing at 2 miles an hour—that short stretch of I-95 has become untenable. So I propose VDOT closes all entrance ramps to the highway from Fredericksburg on a permanent basis. Oh, I kid. Not.
I’d place money on an announcement very shortly from VDOT to study solutions—though I doubt mine will be much considered.
The blog begins with more construction photos and finishes with pretty pictures.
