Forsythia came late and everything else came in a rush. 80 degrees at the end of March?
Two stories in Medium. Fun for Faygo is about a dog in the neighborhood and what lengths his dog lovers will go to. I considered taking Layla to meet Faygo but thought better of it. He was a sweet goldendoodle and if there’s a heaven he’s in it.
Just because dogs can’t get on social media, it doesn’t mean they’re lacking emotions. Unlike some people, when they’re suffering worst, they just keep keeping on. You have to admire that kind of spirit—the kind Faygo had. From the photo you would not know how few days he had left.
Jane Austen’s Bookshelf is about the great book I just finished. I may even read Persuasion now. It’s the Jane Austen novel that seems to appeal most. Rebecca Romney will dissuade you from thinking of rare book collectors as eccentric men with baggy pants. My mother would say she’s a hoot.
Speaking of which, an owl landed in the neighborhood this spring. Hard to sight an owl. You mostly only hear them in the evenings.
The top photo is from a few springs ago—the redbuds are just starting to bloom this year, so it’s not totally inappropriate.
I need to remind myself, when I don’t live with this world, I’m missing out.
