D was in CA for work, and I was sucking down my gallon of morning coffee. Layla was waiting to be entertained.
I liked how the light lands on that wall in the morning.
The first Medium story is about libraries--who’d a thunk. I read a story in the NY Times that resonated, and it went from there. It’s also about the 4th of July in this current age.
The second story is about Substack, a main competitor to Medium that’s launching new features as fast as they can. It’s mainly focused on journalism’s finding its way in the age of the Internet. Joanna Coles has been around the block a few times. She claims she once used carbon paper at The Guardian, but I think that’s a stretch—she’s not that old.
