Hurricane Season—Again
No reason to be shocked, right? It comes around every year living on the southern coast, and we court it by heading to the Outer Banks. This year thus far our well-loved islands have avoided a pummeling.
By October the hoards are thinned out, and the pelicans still track the beaches, so there’s peace to be found here. The blog is about a time decades passed when we weren’t so lucky. Twenty years near to the day.
Though Hurricane Isabel came a year later—-it was just a trailing bit of weather compared to losing Ryan in 2002. That was the unnatural disorder.
