I can’t explain why, but designing a house on a virgin site is harder than renovating an existing one. Being freed of the constraints of a renovation isn’t the help you might think. There’s the perennial constraint of a budget, which in this case was the deciding factor. So one year later, I’m still scratching my head. The blog explains it.
